“写不长”“写不完”——晚清海归派小说写作的一种奇观 |

| 摘 要： 晚清最后十几年，留洋之风盛行，由此形成了中国第一批较大规模的“海归”群体。此群体对中国小说的发展史影响颇大，在对小说功用的阐发、小说地位的提升、小说文体的重塑等方面均有不小贡献，但在其小说写作实践中，却存在着一个普通现象——“写不长”和“写不完”。导致这种现象产生的原因大约有四：一是态度的随意；二是精力和时间所限；三是才力不够；四是写作构想不切实际导致难以操作。 |

Endless novels——an unco sight in overseas returnees’ novel writing in Late Qing Dynasty |

| Abstract: During the last decade of Qing Dynasty, quite a lot of overseas returnees participated in novel writing or translation, which contributed greatly to the Chinese novel development. However, there was a serious drawback in the novel writing, they used to find that they could not develop or complete a whole work, or even, they were not able to end a novel dispite of a grand blueprint. This paper takes the phenomena as the research object, while laying emphasis on describing it in attempt to seak and analyse the reasons behind. |
