论“上”型方位词在科技英语中的图式映射 |

| 摘 要： 根据莱考夫和约翰逊的概念隐喻和意象图式理论，针对科技英语中作为意象图式概念的“上”型方位词进行其图式映射分析，结果发现表示一个意象图式概念的“上”型方位词能够将空间域的意象图式结构从始源域映射到非空间抽象目标域之上，再次佐证认知语言学关于“许多抽象概念结构部分源起于意象图式结构，抽象思维在一定程度上是隐喻思维”的认知观点。 |

| Abstract: On the basis of conceptual metaphor and image schema theory by Lakoff & Johnson, a study of schema mappings for “UP/ON/ABOVE/OVER” in English for Science and Technology (EST) regarded as the concept of image schema is made. The study shows that these words map image-schematic structures in space domains from source domains onto non-spatial abstract target domains respectively. The research findings once again provide us with evidence in support of the following cognitive theory: lots of abstract conceptual structures partially derive themselves from image-schematic structures, and abstract thought is to some extent metaphorical thought. |
