| 摘 要： 歌德的《浮士德》是现代早期对现代, 性进行反思的经典著作。歌德笔下的浮士德是个典型的现代人，浮士德的行为既展现了现代人人性实现的深度和广度，也揭示了这种人性实现所带来的后果。浮士德在追求自我实现过程中的雄心、失败、带来的后果以及最终的被拯救，不仅涉及对浮士德的行为的道德评价，而且涉及对现代性诸多层面的价值评价。对这一多层次的现代性问题，歌德并没有给出明确的答案，而是持一种复杂的态度。 |

Faust, modernity and his moral dilemma |

| Abstract: Goethe’s play Faust is a classic reflection of modernity in early modern times, while the character Faust is a typical modern man, whose actions both manifest the depth and extension of the realization of modern humanity, and disclose disastrous consequences of such realization. Faust’s ambition, failure, subsequent consequences and final redemption in his process of seeking self-realization involve not only moral judgment over his actions, but also value evaluation at various levels of modernity. As for its multi-leveled modernity, Goethe holds an ambiguous attitude rather than giving a specified answer. |
