From “Red Classics” to “Model Operas”
——The causes of rearranging “Linhaixueyuan” into a “Model Opera” |

| Abstract: High politicization was the significant features of Chinese social context in “17 years” of the “Cultural Revolution” period. Of the dozen “Red Classic” novels in “17 years” period, “Linhaixueyuan” was the only one that was eventually rearranged into a “Revolutionary Model Opera”. Taking rearrangement of “Linhaixueyuan” as the case, the author analyzes the profound influence of highly politicized context on the famous works adaptation from the specific social context and the characteristics of the original text, explains the deep causes of rearranging “Linhaixueyuan” into a “Revolutionary Model Opera”. |
