文明论的传播与“新小说”的国民性叙事

摘  要: 晚清通过日本中介传入中国的“文明论”产生了很大的影响,许多“新小说”都集中于对文明的认同。“文明论”的传播不仅塑造了崭新的世界秩序,更重要的是体现为一种明显的鉴别意识,文明的西方和野蛮的中国成为新小说常见的叙事模式。另外,把理念化的“文化”进行中西比较,在晚清的小说中也已初见端倪。当然,这都和中国近代的历史处境密切相关,正如福泽谕吉把文明的目标确定为国家的独立,对中国而言,进行自我批判追赶“西方文明”是现实的迫切需要。

The spread of civilization and narrative  in the “new novel” national characters

Abstract: Civilization introduced to China by Japan had a huge impact in the late Qing Dynasty, many of the “new novels” focused on the recognition of civilization. The spread of civilization not only shaped the new world order but also embodied a clear identification of consciousness, the civilization of the West and the barbaric China had become a common narrative mode of the new novels. In addition, the concept of “culture” comparison of China and Western, also began to take shape in the late Qing Dynasty novels. of course, it was closely related to the situation of modern Chinese history, the goal of civilization was identified as the independence of nation to Fuzeyuji, self-critical to catch up with the “Western Civilization” is the urgent need in China.
