英国汉学家杜德桥与《西游记》研究 |

| 摘 要： 英国汉学家杜德桥的《西游记》研究取得了较大的学术成就：对《西游记》版本的探讨，将这一研究推向了更为精密的层次，并在牛津大学图书馆发现了明刻阳本；对小说第九回的讨论，启发了欧美学界对此问题作出文学性的批评；引用“帕里—洛德口头理论”考证小说《西游记》的前身，揭示了口头文学材料对考察故事形成源流的重要性；质疑学界基于外证所作的孙悟空原型研究，提出了新的研究思路：从小说内在寓意的分析出发，论证了猴子对这一寓意的重要性。 |

British sinologist Dudbridge and the study of Xi You Ji |

| Abstract: British Sinologist Dudbridge’s study of Xi You ji has considerable academic significance. He wrote papers to discuss the versions of Xi You ji with Liu Ts’un-yan that put this study onto an higher level of accuracy and he discovered Xi You ji’s version published in Ming Dynasty in library of Oxford. Dudbridge discussed the problem of the ninth chapter in the novel that enlightened literary criticism in western academic circle. He brought the Parry-Lord Oral Theory studied the antecedents of Xi You ji, revealing that the importance of Oral materials to the forming of the story. He called academic circle’s Su Wu Kong’s prototypes study based on circumstantial evidence into question and put forward the new view that study should aim at the intrinsic significance of the novel and discussed Monkey King’s importance to this kind of significance. |
