“Bildung”和“教化”概念辨析

摘  要: 中文版的《真理与方法》将Bildung译成“教化”,并已在学术界达成共识。为了更好地理解和对话,依然有必要澄清中国传统的“教化”和伽达默尔Bildung的意义差别:从实施者的角度讲,前者是上行下效的政府行为,后者是主体自身积极主动地与他者平等对话的行为;实施目的上,前者着眼于政治统治和社会群体,后者则立足于个体的自我提高;实施方式上,前者是外在环境潜移默化的过程,个体是被动的受众,后者是个体内在的精神活动,个体处于主动地位。

The Difference Between “Bildung” and “Jiao Hua”

Abstract: In the Chinese edition of Truth and Method, the word “bildung” was translated into “Jiao Hua”, and this has been recognized by many scholars. In order to get a better understanding and conversation, however, it is necessary to clarify the difference between the Chinese Word “Jiao Hua” and Gadamer’s “Bildung”: From the standpoint of implementer, the former is the governmental behavior, which is done by government and imitated by others while the latter is a positive behavior based on the equal dialogue. As far as the purpose is concerned, the former pays more attention to the governmental control and the society, while the latter dose with a view to the self improvement. In terms of the way, the former is a process that is influenced by the outside environment, in which the individual is passive while the latter is an inside spiritual behavior and the individual is initiative.
