| Abstract: This paper expounds rhetorical devices in the Bible on the two levels of both syntax and lexis. The former includes text cohesion, parallelism, rhetorical question and exclamatory sentence, while the latter comprises repetition, simile, metaphor and alliteration, so as to reveal the succinct and elegant biblical style. |
