Abstract: Li Subo’s Research on Essays, although containing elements of “compiling”, is not simply a list of materials, but an organic combination of “compiling” and “writing” to achieve academic breakthrough, hence being a valuable theoretical exploration work on essays that deserves attention.. Li Subo, standing from the perspective of theoretical system construction, conducts micro exploration and conceptual interpretation of essays, and on the basis of analyzing and integrating various viewpoints, further deepens and sublimates the thinking of various academic issues, thus extracting academic viewpoints with shining points, achieving a leap from empirical description to theoretical construction, and forming a highly dynamic academic discourse system. It is a concrete manifestation of the author’s global vision and absorption of traditional nutrients, and an important issue in the formation process of the theoretical system of modern Chinese prose. Therefore, from the perspective of the academic history of modern Chinese prose, the fusion innovation and theoretical effects generated by this work still need to be fully affirmed. This also has important reference value and enlightening significance for constructing a “Chinese independent discourse system” today. |
