| 摘 要： 兔子系列小说充满生活质感的描绘演绎了当代美国社会的历史文化变迁，蕴含着作者厄普代克的历史关怀和叙事伦理。作家将现实感受、历史理解和叙事活动有机结合，激起读者的对历史的想象、发问和反思，启迪读者对生活意义的探讨，展示了一个当代文学家所特有的历史意识、叙事方式和伦理倾向。厄普代克用他独特的思维观念来审视历史，通过生活化的历史叙事探询个体的存在和社会的走向，引领读者准确理解历史、观察现实、展望未来。因此，厄普代克关于社会生活和历史文化的叙述实际上是一种价值行为，正是在这个意义上，历史与伦理构成了兔子系列小说的叙事向度，也使兔子系列小说成为一种蕴含特殊意义的存在。 |

History and ethics: Updike’s narrative angles in the rabbit pentalogy |

| Abstract: Historical and cultural evolvement of contemporary American society is presented through the depiction of Rabbit’s social life in the Rabbit Pentalogy that contains Updike’s reflection of history and ethics of narration. Updike combines his real-life experience and feeling with his comprehension of history in the narration, which results in readers’ thoughtful probe into history and contempory life. With his historical consciousness and historical narration based on daily life, Updike discusses the existence of individual and the general orientation of society, and then leads to readers’ accurate sense of history, observation of reality and expectation of future. Thus, Updike’s narration of social life and history is of ethical values. In this sense, history and ethics become the center of Updike’s narration in the Rabbit Pentalogy and endues it with ethical life. |
