Abstract: Translation, according to post-colonial scholars, is a tool for colonizers to maintain the hierarchical order in the colonization process, and for the marginalized races to resist cultural hegemony in the decolonization process. In the post-colonial era, the translator’s behavior proves to be a discursive practice, with which the marginalized races can express their cultural appeals, strive for their discourse power and reshape their cultural identities. The main translation strategies in post-colonial context include Homi Bhabha’s hybridization, the Cannibalism in Brazil and Lawrence Venuti's resistant translation. Post-colonial translation studies are bound to shed much light on the current the translator’s subjectivity study in China. |
