经与权的统一:孟子之礼再考察

摘  要: 孔子、郭店儒简强调礼本于情、礼以情为据。孟子受礼学历史传统尤其是郭店儒简思想的影响,同时因其礼学主要根于其性论,而性论所彰显的人之自主性、能动性与向善性,致使在以“男女授受不亲”为大常原则的同时,又主张“嫂溺援之以手”的权变性与灵活性,从而体现了礼仪与人情的典范式结合,是经与权的统一。对于礼而言,我们应该既要行乎表,更要谨于内,惟其如此,才能更好得将礼之功能真正而完全地发挥出来,以达致儒家“内圣外王”之理想目标,使礼由礼仪之礼而向礼义之礼转进。所以,任何礼文仪节的背后都存在着深层次的礼意,都是人之恭敬、爱憎等情感的适当表达,因而谨守礼节亦必须以内在的情实为根基,否则就会流于肤浅形式;相反,只要有助于真情实感的表达,也不必过于拘泥于某种固有的形式规定,可以因情而变通,此当是对于孟子“经与权”之礼学思想的合理诠释。

Flexibility of doctrine vs reality—a research on Mencius’ Li

Abstract: Confucius, Guodian Rujian regarded sentiment as Li’s(礼). Mencius was influenced by the history and tradition, especially Guodian Rujian, while its main roots are in their study of ritual theory, which it reflected activity and goodness. So, he didn’t only insist on the principle of “not deliver something by hand”, but also the variability and flexibility of “rescuing somebody by hand”. For the ceremony, we must move in the inner, then function better which should be real and ritual played out completely in order to achieve the Confucian “Saint and Emperor”. Therefore, what behind Li exists the appropriate expression of emotions. The contrary of Li, they could contribute to the expression of true feelings, which not adhere too rigidly, and which should be the most reasonable interpretation about the Li of “Jing and Quan”.
